"Mirror of Paradise" Bespoke Tribute Ring
White gold, after the 52.58-carat Golconda diamond.
A bespoke white-gold ring conceived at the scale and proportions of the "Mirror of Paradise", the celebrated 52.58-carat Golconda diamond sold by Christie's in 2019. The centre is a custom-grown, colourless moissanite, cut as a rectangular step-cut to the dimensions and proportions of the original stone. Its scale required a purpose-built mount: a raised white-gold gallery with tapered baguettes to either side, following the original three-stone arrangement. A contemporary jewel that recovers the physical presence of the original. A colourless moissanite of this size, cut to these specifications, is exceptionally rare.
Commissioned at the request of a prominent American technology entrepreneur; not delivered, and thence retained by the present owner. Contemporary; no provenance connection to the original jewel.
