German Polychrome Guardian Angel Figure

"Ein Engel schütze Dich" — May an angel protect you

A large polychrome guardian angel figure depicting a standing cherub with hands joined in prayer and white feathered wings. The figure stands on a green rectangular base inscribed in German, 'Ein Engel schütze Dich' — 'May an angel protect you'. The painted finish combines warm flesh tones, gilt hair and white wings, giving the piece a distinctly continental devotional character. Originally intended as a decorative or memorial figure, its scale and expressive appearance also make it an unusual interior or garden object. Delivery or collection by arrangement.
