Pair of Ionic Column Brooches

Sterling silver, late 20th century

A pair of brooches in the form of fragmentary Ionic columns: each capital with scrolled volutes above a beaded egg-and-dart band, the fluted shaft ending in a broken edge, as if taken from a classical ruin. Cast in sterling silver, the recesses darkened to set off the detail. Stamped.
